ZXL Consulting is run by Zoë Lyons. Zoë is a qualified solicitor (since 2002) with 12 years’ experience in promotional marketing consultancy.
She started her training contract in 2000 and qualified as a solicitor at IT-firm Olswang, then spent time in private practice law firms advising on corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, AIM listings and giving general commercial advice to technology and telecoms clients before going in-house. When in-house (including as European Legal Counsel at BlackBerry®) she provided general corporate advice and drafted and negotiated contracts to support the business across European markets including on property, IT, privacy and marketing.
She has spent over 12 years advising on the structure of promotions, reviewing marketing materials, advising on mechanics and user journeys, drafting compliant terms and conditions and selecting winners for hundreds of promotions. She also advises clients who have been referred to the ASA for breaches of the CAP Code.
Client projects range from start-ups who want to build social media traction to multi-jurisdictional promotions open to residents of many countries. Sometimes one launch can include promotions running in slightly different ways in different jurisdictions (necessitated by local jurisdiction laws on promotions) but with the same brand ideal and message. ZXL Consulting also work on promotions aimed at incentivising and educating staff of the promoter, loyalty schemes and in-app promotions. We can draft terms and provide guidance for promotions set up as prize draws where winners are selected by chance, and of competitions where winners are selected based on skill, and we can provide suites of unique codes for use in purchase linked or tracked promotions.
